When you find a mod you want to download, click the download link on the page to download the package file as a zip file. Also, make sure it is compatible with the latest version of the game. I also don't want to go through the effort of installing another mod unless I know for certain it will work. Make sure the mod you are downloading is for The Sims 3, and not The Sims 4. I've heard of Awesomemod helping with this but am wary of using too many mods as I don't want a laggy game. It's so frustrating, and as someone who loves playing with genetics, it almost makes me want to give up on the game entirely as my next gen aren't going to have a diverse choice of townies to breed with. All of the sims in the high school are the same vanilla face and also pretty much every sim I see in town. I've got my immigration gauge down to 0 and also have the register mod and have been turning immigration on and off on there with no obvious change.
I'm only on my first generation and my town is FULL of vanilla pudding faced sims (generic face usually seen on NPC's) I've tried everything! I've got Twallan's story progression mod and have the settings on chance of simbin offspring and chance of random offspring both on 50. Having some trouble with immigration in The Sims 3. New to this forum (so if I'm posting in the wrong place or something then apologies!) although I've been playing the sims since the very first one.
